Our Promise: Lettera is designed with your privacy at the center. We don't collect, sell, or share your personal data. Your files remain yours, always.
1. Information We DON'T Collect
Lettera is designed to completely respect your privacy. We don't collect:
- Personal identification data (name, email, phone)
- Contact or demographic information
- Location data
- Browsing history or in-app behavior
- Analytics or telemetry data
- Information about other devices or accounts
2. How We Handle Your Files
iCloud Storage
Your documents are stored in
your private iCloud container. This means:
- Only you can access your files
- Files are encrypted by Apple
- We have no access to your document contents
- Synchronization happens directly between your Apple devices
Local Storage
If iCloud is unavailable, files are saved locally on your device in the app's private directory. These files are not shared with other apps or services.
User Control
You can choose at any time whether to use iCloud or local storage from the app settings.
3. Error Logging (Local Only)
To improve app stability, we log technical errors locally only on your device:
- Basic technical information (device model, iOS version)
- Error details for debugging
- Event timestamps
Important: These logs are never automatically sent anywhere. They remain on your device.
4. Optional Feedback System
If you voluntarily choose to send us feedback through the app, we receive:
- The feedback text you write
- Rating (if provided)
- Contact email (optional)
- Basic technical information for support
Sending feedback is completely voluntary and only happens when you explicitly tap "Send Feedback".
5. In-App Purchases
Pro version purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit:
- We don't handle payment information
- We don't store credit card details
- Purchase status is verified through Apple's servers
- One-time purchase - no recurring subscriptions
6. Third-Party Services
Lettera uses some open source libraries only for UI functionality and Markdown rendering:
- NetworkImage: Image loading in previews
- Splash: Code syntax highlighting
- Swift-Markdown-UI: Markdown rendering
None of these libraries collect personal data.
7. Data Security
- Encryption: iCloud files are encrypted by Apple
- Local Access: Local files protected by iOS security system
- No External Servers: Your data doesn't pass through our servers
- iOS Sandbox: The app operates in iOS's secure sandbox
8. Your Rights
Since we don't collect identifiable personal data:
- Complete Control: You always have total control over your files
- Portability: You can export your files at any time
- Deletion: Deleting the app removes all local data
- iCloud Disable: You can disable synchronization whenever you want
9. Data Sharing
We never share your data with:
- Advertising networks
- Data brokers
- Analytics services
- Social media
- Other apps or services
10. Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we'll notify you through an app update. Minor changes will be posted on this page.
